Kent Halloween Party News!!!
"It turns out that the landowner of the site is Lord Kingsdown, ex governor of the Bank of England and a member of the house of lords. His email address is lord.kingsdown@btinternet.com If you want a rant send it to him, not that it will change much."

"Pigs turned up at 2. About 15 of them. If at that point they had just said 'fuck off, we are taking the decks, touch us and your'e nicked' then the party would have been over. Nice and easy. As it was they told us we could go till 4am, their call not ours. By 4am the 15 police onsite herded the crowd about 100 metres down a hill to the road from the party. At the bottom of the hill at least 60 (by my counting) riot police already fully kitted up in helmets with long fixed wooden batons (not used by standard beat coppers as far as I know) were waiting in formation.
Thats when the dogs came out and the violence started. The party had been going on peacefully for at least 3 hours with no hassle towards the police. The crowd was leaving the site when the police got violent. After speaking to one of the riot police, They said theyd been called out at 2 o clock, taken to the local police station, briefed for half an hour, then driven to the site for 4am. The police at the top of the hill only started herding the crowd offsite when they knew the riot police had arrived. The crowd had moved all the way offsite and down to the cars before they were attacked. The party was over and people were ready to go home.
The fact that only 3/4 arrests were made seems to prove the fact that the police werent there to make arrests, just for a bit of action. No effort was made by the police to find the organisers and do anything about the illegal nature of the party."

"My take on things - got there about midnight and there was already a cop on the gate, not letting anyone past, so we walked 50 metres down the road, jumped a fence and went through the woods. Set up a fire, started getting into the party and then about 4am we notice about 5-10 coppers who came up to us and said 'party's over, you've had your fun, time to go'. They were fairly polite until one of my mates said we couldn't get home cos it was 4am and there were no trains, so the cops simply said 'we've told you once, go home or we'll arrest you'.
So we made a fairly hasty retreat and as we got to the gate 2 or 3 meat wagons had just turned up and there were about 50 cops stood in a line, batons poised, about to go in and smash their way towards the rig. We headed straight for our car and left, but it certainly had an ominous vibe when we left...
Hope no-one got seriously fucked over"

"The reason people were unhappy at being pushed down the track was because we were assured we could stay on the land to sober up, and secondly people were being pushed down regardless of whether their vehicles were on site or on the road. I know a few people who ended up losing their bags, coats and lifts home because of this.
The papers have reported that there was only one complaint made, which I know to be false, as I have personally been down to Canterbury station 7 times now to complain and each time I get given the runaround and nothing so far has happened. It seems the people who I need to complain to are always conveniently out or too busy or just finished their shifts etc etc.
When I asked the officer who hit me for his badge number I got punched in the chest with his nice armoured gloves, on asking again I got another punch in the chest considerably harder, this carried on about 5 or 6 times before someone stepped in front of me, and then I managed to get a photo of the officer, but no one at the police station seems interested in seeing it so far."

"I'm in a bit of rush right now but basically we rang a couple of the newspapers yesterday who agreed to run our side of the story today and we need as much photo/video evidence as we can get so the newspapers can post them. If they dont get them by this issue they agreed to post the photos in next weeks edition. (The Newspapers being 'Kent Messenger' and 'East Kent Gazette'.
Somone who was one of the people negotiating with the police had the shit beaten out of him and as a result now has a broken leg and nose. After being beaten up his friends were forced to take him to hospital as the police refused to do so.
I am waiting to get photographs of a girl was curled up on the floor and had the shit beaten out of her with a baton and a result has broken teeth, or no teeth left.
A few of us spoke to the inspector at around 4am telling him that the music would be turned off and within an hour we would be gone. He personally guranteed us that we would be able to leave without any trouble whilst covering up his badge and refusing to give us his name, something we asked him to do several times."

"This was a litlle while after the trouble started, it was me filming about halfway down the track well into the police beating people and pushing them down the track, the more they did this the more irate and angry people got. I mean who likes being pushed around, especially when your'e being pushed into trampling your own mates? Which meant the only option was to fight back against them. Another friend, a slight young lady, got knocked unconscious with a baton and trampled for no reason, and when I asked the officer who hit my knee repeatedly for his badge number each time I asked I received a punch in the chest, as well as various other abuse throughout the whole thing."

BBC news report from the Acid-Rain and Beatz + Freqz Halloween party (2006)
"Ravers party and then tidy site - About 700 people attended an illegal rave over the weekend, police said. Kent officers said the rave started on Saturday at Kingswood and wound down at about 1000 GMT on Sunday, with the last people leaving the site that evening. Police said they attended the area every 90 minutes during the event. Some youths were reported as loitering but caused no problems, said a spokesman. Organisers tidied the site, while parked vehicles led to problems but were passable with care, police said.
A spokesman said a group of up to 15 youths were reported to be loitering in a pub car park on Sunday morning, but officers found they were using the area as a meeting point. He said the site owner and residents were satisfied at the way the police handled the situation."
Some positive news for a change..
